About Sandral Sensations, Inc.

Freda J. Glatt, MS - owner, Sandral Reading

Freda J. Glatt, MS, a retired teacher, is attempting to help you develop the LOVE of reading, while simultaneously reinforcing reading comprehension skills, because Reading is the most basic academic skill students need to acquire. Through educational games, reading skills puzzles, plays, manipulatives, multi-media, and monthly activities, I hope your children will learn to love reading.

Of course, I also want your students to feel successful and be promoted. Through skills-oriented reading worksheets and test-preparation materials, I hope this goal will be realized.

Transition to the next grade can cause apprehension in children; I am, therefore, including Summer Review activities. Let your children remember what they learned and feel prepared to meet the challenges of the year ahead.

Most especially, I want those struggling readers out there to gain confidence in themselves and in their ability to master reading comprehension. That is why I am devoting an entire section of this website to them alone. I hope you will find what you need to accomplish this goal.

Another section is devoted to the hearing-impaired. Sign language is important to learn in order to make these children feel included. Children who do not speak English are also in today's classrooms and need to feel included; therefore, there is a section for ESOL and Other Languages.

Naturally, I want to help teachers, too. You are facing such unbelievable challenges in today's times!  Hopefully, my selection of teacher resources will give you useful information and fresh ideas.

Why am I so passionate about reading? Still certified in Early-Childhood and Elementary Education, with a Masters Degree in the latter, I retired from being a Florida educator in June, 2003, after a 34-year career. I always tried to make learning fun and meaningful but no matter what special activity we did, there were always skills to be reinforced. Because every academic area relies on reading and reading is the key to promotion, I feel that Activities for Reading Comprehension will meet a basic need of fellow educators.

Accordingly, this is my life's new direction. I want to reach out and help students, teachers, parents, grandparents, substitutes, tutors, after-school programs, day care centers - anyone who deals with children - through the internet.

Make us your Reading Central location!
